February Luxe Box

I get four of these beauty box thingies, and figured I should start reviewing them, since I should really decide on two. I’ve yet to receive my first TopBox, which I signed up for in December, and am also waiting on my first GlossyBox, but I’ve been getting LuxeBox for about six months, and Glymm box for about five.

February’s Luxe:

Products:
pureDKNY Eau de Parfum – I’ve been wearing this and I do like it a lot. It smells very clean. I’m not a perfume girl, really (but my chosen ones are Lola by Marc Jacobs and Saint by Kat Von D), but the samples I’ve gotten in my boxes do get used.

Beautiful Body Balm by Mèreadesso – the smell of this is absolutely heavenly, and it moisturizes like whoa. It’s full size is $50, which is out of my price range for body cream since I use a tonne of it, but I would definitely consider it.

Face + Neck Toning Gel by Mèreadesso – I’ve received this sample before and it is wonderful. I went to track it down online to buy it, expecting to pay $60 – $80 for a full size, which is more than I would normally spend on skincare, but this seems worth it, and found it to be $150! It’s a great, great cream, but I can’t afford that.

K-Pac Revitaluxe from Joico – This is a really good size, possibly full size. I do terrible things to my hair (bleaching, coloring turquoise, leaving it in curlers for ages, etc.), but I think I have good luck, as it generally seems shiny & healthy. This stuff I’ve used three times now, and it leaves my hair silky. It’s really nice! Not too heavy, since my hair is mad thin this is a concern, and smells quite pleasant. Rubbing it in my hands feels like there are bubbles or exfoliating roundy thingies, which I don’t get for hair, but it’s a nice experience and a tiny bit goes a long way.

Lise Watier 24 Hours Glam Mascara – the brush on this is totally different to anyone I’ve seen before. It’s plasticky and totally separate bristles. This gave me squished together lashes (spiderleg style) and I wasn’t keen, but brushing it out to separate them really looked good.

Other Luxe receipeints got some interesting products, too. Cargo mascara, and China Glaze polish.

My previous boxes have had moroccan oil shampoo, conditioner, styling cream, hairspray, and oil – my first box contained the oil and it’s still going strong, I’ve used maybe a third of it. There have been a number of full-size products over the months and I definitely feel it’s worth the money.

If you want to sign up, my referral link earns me free boxes. The service is $12 monthly, and I think it’s totally worth it. Their site is reliable, I’ve never had any issues with their customer service, and overall it’s great.

I’ll put together a post on my Glymm box later this week!

  1. Yay! Luxe review! 🙂

Woah dude – It’s interesting to see what you got! I got completely different products! I did get a China Glaze polish in mine (Westside Warrior), L’Air by Nina Ricci (too floral for me, reminds me of barbies), a Chi hair product, and a Dermalogica daily microfoliant.

  2. So I take it that they mix up the samples for everyone? They must have to print out quite the assortment of product info cards… I hope you get a polish and the dermalogica in the next box! 🙂

  3. Chi…is…AWESOME! Did you try it?! I’ve been trying it the last few days, and it’s freaking perfect on my crappy thin breakable hair. 🙂 I went out in the snow with straight hair and it stayed straight! That like never happens…never ever.

  4. Yeah, I’ve been using it a while – I like it a lot as well. I think my favourite so far of the hair oils has been a Keritasse one. Moroccan Oil is also awesome.

  5. Cool – I’ll have to watch out for those and hope that they still have a few samples kicking around. : ) Really impressed with Chi, so if there are even better products, then that’s awesome!
