June 2012 4D Challenge

Let’s start this Challenge Recap off right:

What, pray, has me so terrified/shocked/open-mouthed?

THIS GUY. What is that? A Dragon Fly? DO NOT LIKE.
It was SO CLOSE to me the entire time, it was NOT COOL.

Alright, let’s get down to challenge-business. Every month, Mina gets PeopleStyleWatch magazine. “Every” month, she creates a polyvore set based on the mag, and what we should all be on the lookout for in order to be stunningly beautiful (like we are). This month (last month), it was this:

Sunshine and Simplicity

I find polyvore complicated, and confusing, so I created a joint pinboard for my inspiration items.

A breezy summer dress
Cool, colorful sunglasses
A quick and easy satchel
Embellished flats
A handmade woven bracelet
Complimenting nail polish

I think I did okay. I got all most of the items this time, at least! (and I did two looks)

edit: turns out I did not get a bracelet, bah! Err.. I don’t.. wear.. j.. no, I just forgot. Whoops!

My nail polish is a scented Revlon in Ocean Breeze, with a gold crackle over it from Claire’s.

New:
Dress, H&M ( 🙁 ), $19.99
Sunglasses, Alfred Sung, $6.99

Owned:
Sandals, Old Navy
Bag, Christian Siriano for Payless
Cardi, H&M
Sweater Guard, Bangor Antique Mall

Total spent? $26.98!

The satchel that I wanted wasn’t what I wanted, sadly. It wasn’t as round as my brain remembered it, and it wasn’t the right colour, so I fished around in my existing stuff and came out with this bag I forgot I owned.

For ’embellished’ flats, well, I have the ones I busted out for my night-version!

Bag, Kate Spade, gift
Headband, dollar store
Shoes, H&M, gift

I love how both the day and night versions turned out! No sunglasses at night, obviously.

I hope July’s is as fun to put together!

  1. Totally looks like a dragonfly! Not scary, pretty! You should see how nice they look in the sunshine. All metallic colored and shiny. 🙂 We’ll probably see some on the tuuubes.

Fabulous! I love how colorful your outfit is! And no sad face necessary for the dress, it’s super duper gorg! (Plus I totally bought things at full price too.) 😉

After I read your post, I realized I meant to say “embellished sandals” in the challenge, woopsie! Sorry about the confusion, if any! I love both of your looks: with your sandals, and with those super cute pink flats. Love the bows! They’re perfect with the dress.
