For a mutual friend’s awesome birthday, Lauren and I went for dinner and dancing (well, I went dancing, Lauren was too old / tired). The previous day, she demanded I wear these glasses with “all black, with pops of colour”. This is that request.
I actually had a really hard time, since I wanted to be festive and birthday-y, but not too OTT as to detract from the birthday girl. I also wanted to appear fun and dancey, pretty.. I realize this makes me sound ridiculous but it took hours to choose something.
So, the all black didn’t work out, but black and white is pretty neutral. The pops of colour are my hair and glasses – which I also adore. Recoloured the hair again and this time it is the perfect colour!

Firstly, hey! Way to throw me under the bus!
Secondly, maybe you were less than pleased about the pops of colour because there were not enough. Initially I had meant to have a coloured belt, or shoes, or something above and beyond the lipstick/glasses.
Thirdly, I thought the outfit was perfect and you looked lovely. The glasses are my favourite of the new batch and I think they are worn to their best advantage with neutrals, really. Brings out the pink and green even more, imo.
The more I look at this outfit the cuter it gets. Perhaps you were not wrong.
