So, my moms is working on costumes for my nephew’s production of The Lion King at school, and I got to look at the costumes she’s made!
Here are some examples of the costumes in the official stage production, and my mom’s interpretation:
Amazing, right? My mom: craftser extraordinaire. I didn’t realize how much this all looked like the original stage stuff. I knew it was _cool_ but I didn’t know it was also pretty darn accurate.
I shouldn’t be surprised. I always had some amazing costumes for hallowe’en when I was a kid. Example?
That’s me, as Rainbow Brite. I still remember that costume, it was so much batting and was REALLY hard to walk in. Cute as a button, though, right?
My sister and I also had mermaid costumes with articulated tails, princess costumes with the POOFIEST of skirts, a witch costume with a cardboard neckpiece covered in fabric that meant I had some major Maleficient action going on, a gold-lamé Belle costume with matching Beast. This might be why Hallowe’en is my favourite holiday – it was always a production.
