Thursday already! Finally! I wanted pants, and these are the ones I know fit me, so it was a jeans day today. I really need to get some flattering pants that are comfy and fit. And make me look tall. Is that possible?

I absolutely adore this capelet, it is one of my favourite things. My friend made it for me for Christmas last year, can you believe that? People. So talented sometimes. I am jealous of them. I’m also wearing Mina’s pendant (http://www.etsy.com/shop/mosaicplanet) again.

Oh! Also I got a haircut. There’s a new place on St-Laurent, Chop Shop (http://www.chopshopmtl.com/), and went to check them out yesterday. I really enjoy the cut. You can’t tell here, but it’s asymmetrical – one side covers my ear, the other goes around. The underside is shaved a bit (something I have always wanted but stylists usually won’t do because my hair is so thin), and there’s a little tuft up top that I could spike up if I was into that (which I may do one of these days).
I was really happy with the outcome, and the atmosphere in the salon itself is awesome, but the experience wasn’t top-notch. I was introduced around to all of the staff members, and they all spoke English to me. My stylist was Peter, he was very ‘cool’, with long streaked hair and a cowboy hat. I’m used to getting a beverage while I get my hair did, though, and there was none of that. There was also a pretty long wait before I actually got sat down, and once I was, my head was manipulated in a way I wouldn’t call pleasant – he works very quickly and with much vigor, and I think as a result I got jostled about a lot. That said, it was dirt cheap ($32!), and I will be going back.

So: Pros: I love the cut, the price, the style of the shop, super nice staff
Cons: no beverage, wait times, the enthusiasm of my stylist was such that I may have been knocked in the head a few times

  1. Love the haircut! I would love to see the shaved underside too. 🙂 That capelet is very pretty! Did Lauren make that, or do you have more talented friends in the knitting/crocheting realm?
