These shoes lasted literally one wear. The perforations I guess weren’t ideal for walking in, and they all tore, so by the end of the night they were finished. I’m pretty much swearing off fast-fashion, I think. Too often I get a “deal” that falls apart after one or two wears, it’s stuff that has no staying power, and isn’t made ethically or responsibly. I don’t know how successful I’ll be at spending more to get less, but it is something that I’ve been more conscious of, and that I would really like to take care with.
Obviously, I’m not going to purge my wardrobe of the pieces I already have, but when I buy new things, I’ll try to buy things that I love, are well-made, classic, fit me properly, and are made in a way I feel comfortable supporting.

In other news, today (May 18) is my bestie Lauren’s 30th birthday! Last night we had a great girls’ night, with drinks at home, then dinner at Machiavelli (OMG y’all it was amazing) and dancing at the Roxbury. Turns out we don’t go out dancing because it’s .. not fun. 😀 Everything else, though, was wonderful, and I hope she had a great time. We’re out tonight to celebrate further with her lad, and fellow birthday celebrator, and many friends.
