Before heading out to the swap with Lauren, we went for Brunch at Machiavelli. And I’ve been back every week since. It’s amazing, seriously.<\/p>\n
I have a hard time eating out, because of my gluten issues, and lactose intolerance. I let the server know when we sat down, and she brought out gluten-free toast. Normally, I expect to have things left off my meal entirely, but the executive chef went out of her way to make my meal spectacular. Every week, they concoct a new menu of three items, and every one of them sounds absolutely amazing. Here are a few of my meals:<\/p>\n
Lauren’s Chorizo egg & Salsa Verde. I didn’t get to taste this, but she assured me it was amazing.<\/p>\n My crepe BLT. I can’t eat crepes, so the chef made me a paper-thin omelette to wrap the spicy BLT in!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Julie’s steak and egg, two weeks ago. <\/p>\n It may have been good. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n My morning tacos. The tortilla was corn, and the flavour was amazing. <\/p>\n OKOK, and maybe the best best best part of brunch at Machiavelli, is the finale sucree. Dessert with breakfast, y’all. It’s brilliant. They always manage to make me something amazing. <\/p>\n So I totally regret not going to this place before, and I’m intensely looking forward to a dinner there. It has the feel of a tiny local neighbourhood spot, but the food is all super high quality, full of imagination and skill. You should go. Now. Go now! \nEvery brunch starts with jam, each week a different flavour, and toast. This tasted of christmas and vanilla.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a>
\nFar: Lauren’s PB&J cupcake, and my version, a Cashew butter and jam french toast sammich. It was creamy and beautiful and delicious and just thinking about it makes my mouth water!<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nTwo weeks ago, Julie’s beautiful banana dessert.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nAnd my version, a raspberry sorbet with banana glass. The sugar was carmelized on the banana, so it tasted of bananas! It was absolutely amazing. <\/p>\n
